This position involves classroom and laboratory instruction, curriculum development, student advisement, recruitment, and maintaining program compliance with accrediting and industry standards. The instructor ensures a safe and effective learning environment while preparing students for careers in advanced manufacturing and related fields. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: + Instruct and supervise students in classroom, lab, and applied learning settings in subjects such as mechatronics, industrial systems, electrical/electronic controls, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and automated systems. + Develop, update, and deliver curriculum, course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials that align with program and industry standards. + Evaluate students’ progress, maintain accurate records, and provide academic advisement, mentoring, and support for student success. + Recruit, advise, and retain students within the program; assist with student registration and placement efforts. + Ensure compliance with program accreditation, state, and institutional requirements. + Maintain instructional facilities, labs, equipment, and supplies; ensure adherence to all safety and security procedures. + Collaborate with faculty, staff, and industry partners to support program growth and align instruction with workforce needs. + Participate in departmental, college-wide, and community engagement activities, including committees and special projects. + Complete required documentation, reports, and administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner. + Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or academic leadership. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Associate degree or higher in Industrial Systems, Mechatronics, Automated Manufacturing, Electro-Mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field OR a combination of education and extensive industry experience. + At least three (3) years of documented industry work experience in advanced manufacturing fields, including systems-level troubleshooting in areas such as Allen Bradley PLCs, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, and electronic controls. + Proficiency in computer applications and instructional technologies . + Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. + Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and industry stakeholders. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: + Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Systems , Mechatronics, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline. + Five (5) or more years of industry experience in advanced manufacturing. + Post-secondary teaching experience, particularly in a technical or community college setting. + Experience with mechatronics, robotics, and emerging technologies (e.g., drones, Industry 4.0 applications). + Supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or technical environment. Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies.
