             The Microsoft AI Monetization team plays a pivotal role in shaping how Microsoft generates value from its AI innovations, particularly through products like Copilot, Bing, Edge, and Microsoft Advertising. As a **Principal Technical Program Manager** (TPM), to drive strategic execution across large-scale, a usage-based marketplace licensing model that allows publishers to sell their content for AI training and outputs. This solution aims to address the growing concerns about AI scraping copyrighted content without permission and ensuring ongoing revenue streams for content creators. This Program Manager will be a leader in execution across projects. They will orchestrate aligning engineering execution with product strategy across cross-functional teams spanning machine learning, user experience, data privacy, and monetization systems. You’ll partner closely with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to ensure that Microsoft AI Monetization continues to deliver intelligent, efficient, and responsible advertising solutions powered by AI. You will have the ability to scale and strategically align areas of ambiguity across many stakeholders and drive clarity towards shared outcomes. You will focus on building and scaling innovative this marketplace while ensuring operational excellence. Responsibilities + Program Leadership & Execution Ownership: Lead complex technical programs across ad delivery, AI/ML systems, or real-time infrastructure. + Define execution strategy and milestones; drive accountability across teams and track progress to deliver on commitments. + Cross-Functional Influence: Partner with PMs, engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to align technical direction with business goals. + Translate vision into executable plans, proactively resolving ambiguity and fostering collaboration across orgs. + Technical Excellence & Risk Management: Review system designs, ensure adherence to performance and reliability standards, and manage technical dependencies. + Identify risks early (tech debt, integration issues, capacity limits) and drive mitigation plans across stakeholders. + Communication & Visibility: Provide program updates and risks to leadership, translating complex issues into actionable, business-aligned narratives. + Establish clear visibility into progress, priorities, and KPIs, ensuring LT and partner teams are informed and aligned. + Data-Informed Decision-Making: Define and monitor key metrics (e.g., latency, throughput, availability, quality scores) to guide program priorities and evaluate success. + Partner with telemetry and analytics teams to surface insights that improve product and platform performance. Qualifications Required Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree AND 6+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development + OR equivalent experience. + 4+ years of leading cross-functional, high-ambiguity programs in tech organizations and delivering AI / ML - powered or real-time systems at scale. + 3+ years of experience driving technical programs in ML/AI, search, knowledge graph, and/or information retrieval. + 2+ years of experience driving publisher-facing technical programs that involve large-scale, high-performance capabilities for publisher onboarding, content catalog management, entitlement, value attribution, and billing. Preferred Qualifications: + Bachelor’s AND 10+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development + OR equivalent experience. + 8+ years of leading cross-functional, high-ambiguity programs in tech organizations. + 2+ years of experience driving publisher-facing technical programs that involve large-scale, high-performance capabilities for publisher onboarding, content catalog management, entitlement, value attribution, and billing. + Hands-on experience reviewing technical designs, specs, or systems diagrams. + Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and communicate across technical and executive audiences. Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
