As Microsoft’s Collections Manager, the mission is to safeguard AR and accelerate cash flow as a trusted advisor—championing customer obsession, building inclusive, trust-based partnerships, elevating the customer’s voice in decisions, and resolving escalations with clarity—to optimize collections performance and fuel sustainable growth. As a **Finance Manager - Global Collections,** you'll be safeguarding Microsoft’s investments in Accounts Receivable as a trusted advisor to the business—driving profitable growth and stewarding the lifecycle of every dollar with care and clarity. You’ll be accelerating cash flow and elevating collections performance by cultivating strong, inclusive partnerships, amplifying the customer’s voice in decisions, and applying modern, AI‑enabled solutions to resolve escalations effectively. Responsibilities Responsibilities Leadership + Communicate with clarity, foster trust, and inspire positive energy while driving impactful results. + Commit to continuous learning, including AI skill development and career growth opportunities. + Model and nurture a collaborative, inclusive culture grounded in a growth mindset. + Encourage innovation, challenge conventional thinking, and create space for learning in the flow Prioritization + Manage collections and cash applications for an assigned portfolio with accountability and collaborative leadership. + Apply AI-driven insights to improve collections performance and achieve goals. + Make informed, responsible decisions to manage risk and support timely collections. + Address customer payment concerns with empathy and partner with the Business Engagement team for resolution. + Contribute to projects and lead initiatives focused on AI and process innovation to support business growth. + Collaborate with global vendors and suppliers, ensuring process alignment and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Maintain consistent engagement, support escalations, and monitor Partnership: + Collaborate with policy owners to enhance programs and ensure compliance, while driving positive change and evolving processes to meet Treasury and customer needs. + Create exceptional customer experiences by understanding diverse needs, supporting satisfaction initiatives, and addressing queries or escalations with empathy and clarity. + Partner across Microsoft—internally and externally—to deliver inclusive, high-quality processes, reporting, and Accounts Receivable performance that supports a world-class customer experience. + Work with key teams to improve collections, resolve disputes, mitigate risk, and strengthen decision-making through collaboration and transparency. + Promote business process excellence by partnering with Treasury’s Business Process Outsourcer (BPO) and BPO Manager to achieve agreed performance metrics and deliver impactful results. + Support Audit, Tax, and Trade teams by ensuring timely and accurate documentation for compliance requirements, including Sarbanes-Oxley Act standards. Security: + Promote understanding and adherence to Microsoft policies while fostering accountability and shared responsibility across all partners. + Build a culture of compliance through transparent actions and informed decisions that instill trust, advocate for best practices, and embrace new developments. + Uphold and champion Microsoft’s privacy, security, and ethical standards to ensure integrity and protect customer and organizational interests. Other: + Embody our culture and values Qualifications Required/minimum qualifications + Master's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 2+ years experience in financial analysis, accounting, controllership, finance, or related field OR equivalent experience. + 2+ years work experience with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis) and demonstrated ability to perform accurate financial calculations. Additional or preferred qualifications + Masters Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 3+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 5+ years of post-graduate financial analysis, accounting, controllership or finance work experience OR equivalent experience. + 1+ years of experience influencing stakeholders and driving decisions under tight deadlines while maintaining compliance standards; demonstrated by meeting delivery timelines and positive stakeholder satisfaction ratings. + 1+ years of experience contributing to and performing successfully in a multicultural team environment Financial Analysis IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $76,800 - $151,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $100,800 - $168,000 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
