             Summary You will serve as a INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Windows Systems Branch (N623), Information Technology (IT) Operations Services Division (N62), Information Technology Department (N6), Naval Oceanographic Office of Stennis Space Center, Mississippi of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS. Responsibilities You will install, configure, perform cybersecurity compliance, and operational availability of Windows based Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software on Windows workstations and servers (virtualized and physical). You will serve as an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN) performing system administration tasks to ensure cybersecurity compliance and operational availability of systems and software. You will manage and maintain the IT environments supported by the N62 Division, while following all of the guidance and direction from the command. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience: require one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled. Experience integrating, troubleshooting, and deploying Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications on Microsoft Windows Server and workstations and performing system administration tasks which include patching of software and maintaining cybersecurity compliance on Microsoft Windows Servers (2019 or greater). Experience configuring and utilizing software-based computer protection tools such as software firewalls, anti-virus software, and anti-spyware. Experience developing and maintaining scripts to perform system administration tasks such as data file transfers, system monitoring, backups, and system configurations. Experience evaluating impacts and implementing compliance strategies for information assurance vulnerabilities (IAVAs) for DBMS and commercial software on Windows servers. This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites including NAVO Survey vessels for up to 45 days. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. This position has been designated as a cyberspace workforce position in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework (DCWF) work role, in specialty are (451), Systems Administrator with an Intermediate proficiency level. As a condition of employment incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualification in accordance with DoDM 8410.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, Feb. 15, 2023 and supporting Dept. of Navy policies.
