    Northrop Grumman is seeking Software Engineers for an internship opportunity.** This position will be located at our **Mission Systems Sector** in **Buffalo, NY

     

    The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Targeting & Survivability (T&S) Division.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    + Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain software and computing systems software to be applied to, and integrated with engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements

    + Generate processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, military range pilot training and display systems

    Basic Qualifications

    A candidate must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:

    + Be a student who is enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university and will be enrolled full time in Fall 2026

    + Be majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) degree

    + Be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2026.

    + Be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite) as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00/4.0 or higher

    + **It will be helpful, though not required, for your course work to have included:**

    + Development Languages such as C/C++, Python, Ada, and/or

    + Primary Operating Systems such as Linux, Windows, VxWorks, and/or

    + Agile Development using Jira and GitHub, and/or

    + Embedded Software, Object Oriented Design, GUI Development using Qt, GPU GSL & CUDA, Web Design

    Intern Pay Range:

    Bachelor’s: $18.75 to $34.50 per hour

     

    Master’s: $27.00 to $42.50 per hour

     

    At Northrop Grumman, our internship pay rates are standardized and take into account three main factors: the anticipated graduation date of the individual, the cost of labor of the geographic location, and whether the internship is considered technical or administrative.

    Primary Level Salary Range: $1.00 - $1.00

     

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

     

    Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
