Electronics Assembler (Contract)

About the Role
System One is seeking an experienced Electronics Assembler to join our team in Lynchburg, VA. In this role, you will assemble electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical components according to product specifications. You’ll work under general supervision and contribute to building high-quality systems used across a variety of applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on assembly experience and a strong understanding of technical drawings, schematics, and safe work practices.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform intermediate to complex electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, or mechanical/material assemblies
+ Assemble systems such as audio, video, robotics, process control, data acquisition, filter fabrication, and mechanical modifications
+ Perform printed circuit board assembly, point-to-point wiring, cable assembly, or filter mold fabrication
+ Set up and operate tools and equipment used in the assembly process
+ Provide guidance and support to junior-level Assemblers as needed
+ Conduct appropriate quality checks to ensure all work meets specifications
+ Handle hazardous materials safely and maintain a clean, compliant work environment
+ Participate in promoting a safe and healthy workplace by following all safety and health policies
+ Occasional travel to nuclear power generation sites may be required
Education & Experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ 3–5 years of related assembly experience
Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
+ Understanding of basic electronic symbols and components
+ Skilled in hand tools and basic electronic or mechanical test equipment
+ Proficiency in electronic soldering or operating mechanical tooling
+ Basic computer skills
+ Knowledge of company and industry safety and health policies

Physical Requirements
+ Ability to remain stationary, walk, kneel, and crouch as needed
