Shenandoah University’s Library is accepting applications for an Access Services Associate. This is a full-time benefited position located on our main campus in Winchester, Virginia.
The Access Services Associate is a full-time, benefited staff position, 35 hours each week, reporting to the library director and the access services librarian. This is a Sunday-Thursday evening position during the fall and spring semesters, with Monday-Friday daytime hours during the summer and during fall, winter, and spring university breaks.
Duties and responsibilities:
+ Supervise evening access services in the Smith Library
+ Supervise student workers
+ Supervise the Smith Library building and collections
+ Maintain a safe and welcoming library environment
+ Maintain and process library resources and supplies, as needed
+ Other duties as assigned
Tools used:
+ OCLC Worldcat Discovery Worldshare Management Services
+ Online work request and invoicing systems
+ Various library databases and electronic collections
+ Google and MS Office suite: Gmail, Google Docs, Word, Excel, etc.
Required Skills
Qualifications:
+ A bachelor’s degree is required.
+ Library experience is preferred.
+ Excellent customer service and computer skills are required.
+ Schedule flexibility:
+ The ability to work evenings & weekends during fall and spring semesters and daytime hours during the summer and during fall, winter, and spring university breaks.
