    Shenandoah University’s School of Health Professions is accepting applications for an Assistant Professor in the Division of Counselor Education. This full-time benefited position will work out of our Winchester, VA campus.

    The mission of the Shenandoah University Division of Counselor Education is to educate ethical, compassionate counselors who practice cultural humility. The Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling Program at Shenandoah University aims to train counselors and school counselors to be social justice oriented and work with underserved populations.

     

    This position is a 12-month core faculty position. This position will have teaching responsibility within the Clinical Mental Health Counseling, School Counseling, and Music Therapy and Professional Counseling programs. While this position will be mainly responsible for maintaining a teaching load, they will also hold responsibility for advising students throughout the duration of their program. Core faculty members are expected to engage in the development and assessment of programs, contributing through division and university service, professional service, research, and leadership/advocacy.

    Required Skills

    Requirements:

    + Ph.D in Counselor Education and Supervision or grandfathered in

    + License or license eligible in Virginia (LPC or School Counseling)

    + Preferred

    + Experience as a school counselor

    + Approved Clinical Supervisor certification

    + Evidence of successful teaching experience

    + Evidence of successful supervision experience

    + Evidence of a research agenda
