QA Technician - Raw Materials
**Location:** Fontana, CA
**Employment Type:** Contract (4 months with potential for extension or conversion to hire)
**Schedule:** Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (start time between 6-8 AM depending on business needs), overtime as needed, occasional Saturday work
**Pay Rate:** $18-20/hour
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Warehouse Technician to join our quality assurance team at our Fontana facility. As a contract manufacturer specializing in premium baked goods—including gourmet cookies, nutritional bars, and sandwich cookies for natural and organic markets—we maintain the highest quality standards in everything we produce.
In this role, you'll be responsible for examining incoming and outgoing products to ensure they meet our rigorous quality specifications. You'll work in the warehouse receiving area, serving as the critical first line of quality control for all raw materials entering our facility.
Key Responsibilities
+ Inspect incoming raw materials and packaged materials upon delivery.
+ Verify that raw materials match specifications and documentation.
+ Check expiration dates and labels for accuracy and compliance.
+ Perform swabbing tests for micro-organisms as part of quality protocols.
+ Review and validate Certificates of Analysis (COA) from suppliers.
+ Complete all required documentation with precision and attention to detail.
+ Obtain and prepare ingredient samples for R&D department.
+ Create labels and work instructions as needed.
+ Identify and report any nonconformances immediately.
+ Place items on hold when quality standards are not met.
Required Qualifications
+ **No nut allergies** (critical requirement due to facility ingredients).
+ High school diploma preferred.
+ Minimum 1 year of experience in food manufacturing or similar environment.
+ Prior experience handling raw materials and reviewing Certificates of Analysis.
+ Strong documentation skills with meticulous attention to detail.
+ Proven ability to work independently once trained.
+ Self-motivated with excellent reliability.
+ Basic computer skills.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Friendly and professional personality.
