Salary: $150,000 - $170,000/ year plus 20% bonus eligibility. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
Summary
Responsible for the administration and analysis of global corporate property and casualty, liability, executive risk, specialty insurance programs, and captive insurance entity management. Responsibilities include managing insurance data for carriers' reports, participating and assisting with insurance strategy, claims handling and claims management, and developing standard operating procedures. Ownership and oversight of all claims for the insurance program, ensuring the delivery of quality service to internal customers while protecting the Company's assets. Reviews total cost of risk to determine proper risk retention, placement strategy, claims management, appropriate reserving, reasonable settlement options and timely closing. Management of safety and transportation management teams.
Core Responsibilities
+ Manages workers' compensation and auto liability claims requiring timely contact with insurance adjusters, client advisors and field teammates to minimize Company expense and claims exposure. Manages auto property damage claims from reporting to recovery. Works with field management to ensure that claims reporting and processing takes place on a timely basis. Partners with medical providers, adjusters and field and local management to encourage appropriate and timely teammate return-to-work timeframes and conditions. Partners with the legal department, O&M management and external expert resources on claims adjudication, dispute and other response strategies including the use of outside investigators.
+ Participates in annual renewal strategies and assists with the annual insurance renewal process for all product lines. Solicits, reviews and provides required renewal support data. Responsible for working with broker and collection and review of data for renewal submission in coordination with various teams: controller, real estate, and safety. Works with brokers and underwriters on surety and collateral.
+ Manages claims notification and status updates for all product lines. Assists with mediation for claims.
+ Designs and develop standard operating procedures.
+ Reviews broker's quarterly claims analysis; recommends appropriate accrual rate to the controller's team.
+ Manages and directs loss control services. Reviews reports, identifies actionable recommendations, and works with field locations to implement solutions. Works with Safety teammates and recommends alternatives to current practices as needed to ensure teammate safety while minimizing company costs. Provides and analyzes standard and ad hoc reports in support of loss control activities.
+ Assists with special projects related to risk management/loss control.
+ Assists with the management of the Company’s captive insurance company including strategy development, risk assessment and relationships with the captive manager and internal stakeholders.
Qualifying Experience
+ Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Risk Management, Finance or Business Administration
+ Master's Degree and/or Insurance designation (ARM, CPCU or CRM) preferred.
+ Seven years of experience with a corporate risk management department or broker
+ Thorough knowledge of casualty claims, investigation techniques, corporate policies and financial settlement options. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of teammates and company information.
+ Demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely, conduct interviews and meetings, and express an opinion, conclusions and recommendations in a clear and convincing manner.
+ Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, service providers, claims adjusters and attorneys at all levels of their respective organizations.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Ability to discern errors within highly complex or detailed work.
+ Ability to travel up to 20%.
