This role will be based in San Francisco or Sunnyvale location.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.
In this role, you will be part of the Engineering Horizontals Strategic Finance team, driving standardized reporting, scalable processes, and consolidated financial insights across the broader Engineering organization. You’ll help strengthen how we plan, track, and communicate Engineering’s financial and operational performance.
You will partner closely with Senior Engineering leadership and cross-functional teams to drive resource planning and investment decisions, evaluate trade-offs, and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness across spend and headcount.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Thinking
+ Identify and validate opportunities to improve how Engineering resources are planned and measured, leading strategy development in partnership with business stakeholders.
+ Maintain strong cross-functional relationships to understand priorities and constraints, integrating feedback to shape scalable, forward-looking planning frameworks.
Stakeholder Influence
+ Partner with Engineering and Finance leadership to translate financial and operational insights into clear, actionable recommendations that inform prioritization and planning decisions.
+ Synthesize complex data into concise narratives and dashboards that drive alignment, clarity, and decision-making across stakeholders.
Execution & Organization
+ Own development and execution of core planning, reporting, and consolidation processes to ensure accuracy, scalability, and standardization across the Engineering StratFin ecosystem.
+ Proactively identify process gaps and efficiency opportunities, driving cross-functional solutions that improve visibility and reduce manual effort.
Performance Management
+ Build and maintain advanced financial models and performance metrics to track spend, headcount, and efficiency levers across Engineering.
+ Lead ad hoc analyses and scenario modeling to evaluate trade-offs, forecast outcomes, and support long-range planning (e.g., FY27).
Culture & Values
+ Provide guidance and mentorship to analysts and peers, fostering analytical rigor, professional growth, and collaboration across the team.
+ Contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture that values transparency, feedback, and continuous improvement.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Business, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field AND minimum 5 years of experience in finance, finance accounting, management consulting, investment banking, or related field OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience in the technology industry or high-growth environment with an ability to navigate ambiguity and scale processes
+ Advanced proficiency in financial and data modeling with the ability to translate analysis into clear, actionable business insights
+ Strong aptitude with planning and reporting systems with preference to Oracle EPM and Hyperion Essbase
+ Experience driving strategic planning cycles to shape business priorities and guide decision-making in alignment with financial objectives
+ Ability to influence outcomes through effective cross-functional partnerships and a metrics-driven perspective
+ Proven ability to transform finance processes and systems, partnering across teams to identify improvements, increase efficiency, and support scalable growth

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $125,000 to $202,000
Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
