    The Project Manager II – Operations & Training manages and executes moderately complex projects that strengthen operational workflows and training programs across the Pediatric Clinical and Translational Investigation Program (CTIP). The role plans and coordinates project activities, resources, timelines, and deliverables; develops and maintains SOPs and process documentation; and builds training infrastructure to support onboarding and ongoing competency for research staff. The Project Manager collaborates closely with CTIP leadership, the Clinical Trials Office, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance with institutional policies and clinical research regulations, and to drive data-informed continuous improvement.

    May also include the following Operations and Training duties:

    + Responsible for day-to-day oversight and management of assigned projects.

    + Responsible for overseeing operational and training aspects of applications used by the DFCI Pediatric Research Enterprise.

    + Coordinates the training of new research staff and assists in creating training materials

    + May be responsible for scheduling and conducting project meetings, conference calls, and other project-related administrative tasks.

    + Lead projects under regular supervision.

    + Generate regulatory reports on established deliverables with little supervision.

    + May be asked to participate in multi-departmental workgroups.

    + Scope and Complexity: Manage moderately complex projects, focusing on resource allocation and meeting project objectives.

    + Decision Making: Make informed decisions regarding resource allocation and project timelines, with some autonomy in resolving operational challenges.

    + Stakeholder Interaction and Communication: Engage with abroad range of stakeholders, including department heads and project leads, to gather requirements and provide updates.

    + Project Management: Plan and manage project activities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and efficient use of resources.

    + Quality Assurance and Performance Monitoring: Track project progress and performance metrics, reporting findings to stakeholders and recommending improvements.

    + Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project success and implement mitigation strategies to address them.

    + Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, healthcare management, biology, or related healthcare field

    + Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a project management or comparable role

    + Experience supporting clinical research operations (e.g., clinical trials, multi-center and/or oncology studies) preferred

    + Experience in an academic medical center or research institution preferred

    + Strong knowledge of research regulations/ethics (e.g., ICH-GCP, human subjects protection) and institutional SOPs required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    + Solid understanding of project management methodologies and practices.

    + Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

    + Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.

    + Proficiency in project management software and templates.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

     

    Pay Transparency Statement

     

    The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

     

    For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)

     

    $90,087.00 to $98,916.00
