Position Overview
Amergis is seeking compassionate and dedicated School RegisteredNurses (RNs) to support the health and well-being of students across LaPlata, MD. This role is essential in promoting student safety, managing chronicconditions, responding to medical emergencies, and serving as a liaison betweenfamilies, school staff, and healthcare providers.
As a Float School Nurse, you will be assigned a schedule that mayvary across different school locations. While floating may be less ideal forsome, it guarantees consistent work every school day. If all schools arecovered, nurses will be doubled up to ensure full-time hours are met.
Key Responsibilities
+ Deliver student care using the nursing process in a school setting
+ Promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students
+ Respond to medical emergencies and manage chronic health conditions
+ Collaborate with families, school staff, and healthcare providers
+ Maintain compliance with Amergis’ standards, policies, and physician orders
Minimum Requirements
+ Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland
+ Bachelor’s Degree preferred
+ School Nurse Certification (as required by state or contract)
+ 1+ year of experience in school nursing, public health, or pediatrics preferred
+ Current CPR certification
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
