Position Summary
Amergis is seeking dedicated School Aides to support students with instructional and behavioral needs in Largo, MD. This role involves working closely with students who have Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), under the supervision of the special education department, teachers, and designated staff.
School Aides play a vital role in helping students achieve their educational goals while also supporting their physical mobility and therapeutic care needs as directed by healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
+ Provide instructional and behavioral support to students
+ Assist with personal care and physical mobility needs
+ Incorporate IEP goals into daily supervision and support
+ Collaborate with educators and healthcare professionals
+ Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
Minimum Requirements
+ High School diploma or equivalent
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ Comply with all relevant professional standards
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Current Health Certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
Additional Details
+ Openings: 3
+ Interview Format: In-person only
+ Orientation: Attendance required for the first 5 days to be eligible
+ Conversion Opportunity: After 640 hours, candidates may be eligible for internal placement (conversion not guaranteed but strongly encouraged)
