Early Childhood Special Education Teacher

Salary: $1575 / Week
The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred
+ Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations
+ Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred
+ State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred
+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
General Comments
Modality:
Special Education Teacher Must have MO B-3 Special Education AND Early Childhood Teaching Certifications
Grade Level & Classroom Type (General, Inclusion, Self Contained, etc.)
Life Skills Classroom, disabilities range from intellectual disabilities, autism, down syndrome, etc.
Caseload Details:
Morning and Afternoon Classes, 4 students in each class but could vary slightly throughout the school year due to referrals and evaluations
Classroom Support:
Paraprofessional in classroom
Day to Day Duties:
lead classroom; conduct IEP meetings, lesson planning etc.
Group or 1:1 support (Paras, BTs, Nurses):
1 Para for support in each class; will also collaborate with district's psych examiners, sped director, and early childhood principal regarding paperwork/compliance/processes
Start & End Date:
ASAP Start, 2025-26 SY
Start & End Time:
8:00am - 4:00pm; Monday - Friday
School is only in session Mon - Thurs but Friday will be used for IEP meetings and lesson planning
