    About the PositionThe Program Coordinator is a member of dynamic team focused on student success and in increasing the number of certified educators in the State of Washington. This position plays a significant role in supporting undergrad students in the pre- and post-admission processes, including marketing, recruitment, and retention efforts. Students are admitted into the program on a quarterly basis; recruitment is ongoing throughout the year. This position serves as the primary staff support for elementary and multilingual programming and is responsible for coordinating all student services and faculty support aspects of the elementary and multilingual undergrad and endorsement-only teacher education programming as well as the Language and Literacy graduate program for the department of Early Childhood, Elementary, and Multilingual Education.

     

    The Program Coordinator will collaborate closely with multiple Academic Program Directors, the department manager, and other Woodring staff to support all aspects of student retention, marketing, and recruitment. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, often handling sensitive and confidential information. This position will support future undergrad teacher education programming needs that evolve in the department.

     

    This is a 9-month, 25 hour/week position. Position is based on-site and in-person at the Bellingham main campus. Additional evening work will be required on occasion to support program events, as well occasional travel to Woodring outreach sites and regional colleges for meetings and recruitment events.

    Required Qualifications

    + At least two years of experience in a clerical setting or in higher education program support

    + Demonstrated ability to communicate (oral and written) persuasively, effectively and professionally

    + Demonstrated ability to work effectively and graciously with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds

    + Demonstrated ability to take initiative

    + Demonstrated thoroughness and strong attention to detail

    + Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment

    + Proven ability to manage work priorities across multiple projects and meet specific timelines

    + Experience and commitment to working with individuals from diverse backgrounds

    + Demonstrated experience with MS Word and Excel

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Experience working for a teacher preparation program

    + Experience working in a college or university setting

    + Familiarity and experience with Outlook, Slate, Banner, WIS, and SAP Concur

    + Experience with Drupal or other web/marketing design programs

    Salary $2,471 - $3,306 (@62.5 FTE)/month depending on qualifications and experience
