    Our client is currently seeking a qualified **Lead Information Systems Specialist** to join their team **onsite** in Berkeley, CA and provide end-user support.

     

    This role will oversee and execute advanced technical support operations across client departments; lead the deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems; mentor junior technicians; and serve as a key escalation point for complex issues. This role ensures seamless IT service delivery and alignment with departmental and client-wide technology needs.

    Duties and Responsibilities** **:

    + Lead and be hands-on in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and printers

    + Validate warranty status and coordinate with OEMs and third-party vendors for support and replacements

    + Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for incidents and service requests

    + Serve as an escalation point for technical issues and guide junior technicians in resolution strategies

    + Create, maintain, and improve internal knowledge base documentation

    + Ensure accurate and timely updates in the IT Service Management (ITSM) system

    + Coordinate and schedule on-site support services with end users and external providers

    + Analyze departmental hardware/software needs and implement upgrades or installations

    + Manage user accounts, including network drives, shared mailboxes, and distribution lists

    + Oversee software installations and resolve application-related issues

    Skills and Qualifications** **:

    + Strong knowledge of PC hardware, operating systems, and network architecture

    + Experience with network cabling, operating systems, and internet infrastructure

    + Proficiency in standard office applications (databases, word processing, spreadsheets)

    + Familiarity with Citrix, FortiToken, and Microsoft Intune for device management

    + Understanding of multifunction printers and basic networking principles

    + Ability to interpret and apply departmental IT policies and procedures

    + Proven ability to lead technical teams and coordinate cross-departmental IT efforts

    + Skilled in mentoring and training junior staff

    + Effective communicator with strong customer service orientation

    + Experience in unionized or government environments is highly valued

    + Successful working in a collaborative, team setting

    **Wage Range** :

     

    The rate for this position is between **$25.50 - $37.00 per hour.** Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
