This position plays a critical role in the success of client's web and mobile applications by designing, implementing, and maintaining robust test automation strategies, tools, and frameworks. The Web SDET serves as a key liaison between the SDET team and other development workstreams, taking full ownership of automation needs and collaborating closely with engineering teams to develop sophisticated UI, API, CI/CD, and environmental test automation systems.
The ideal candidate will proactively drive automation goals and milestones, recommend quality improvements, and contribute to the development and integration of new automation technologies and frameworks. This role emphasizes building and sustaining custom automation frameworks with minimal reliance on third-party or GUI-driven tools.
Your role
+ Automation Strategy & Execution
+ Own the design, development, and execution of web test automation processes.
+ Develop and maintain web UI automation using JavaScript and Node.js.
+ Create and execute automated test scripts for UI, API, and CI/CD pipelines.
+ Framework Development
+ Build new automation frameworks from the ground up with minimal reliance on third-party or GUI-based tools.
+ Enhance and maintain existing automation frameworks.
+ Collaboration & Leadership
+ Act as the primary liaison between the Web SDET team and other development workstreams.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive testing efficiencies.
+ Work closely with leadership to identify challenges and propose improvements.
+ Process & Technology Improvement
+ Implement process improvements in automation development and execution.
+ Integrate automation with CI/CD and cloud-based solutions.
+ Participate in tool and technology evaluations; develop proof-of-concept models.
+ Quality & Standards
+ Analyze features/functions for automation feasibility.
+ Monitor, debug, and communicate automation test results.
+ Generate and manage test data for execution and database population.
+ Follow coding and design standards; contribute to codebase maintenance and refactoring.
Your skills and experience
+ Proven experience in developing web UI automation using JavaScript and Node.js.
+ Strong understanding of test automation frameworks and principles.
+ Experience with CI/CD tools and cloud environments.
+ Ability to design and implement scalable automation solutions.
+ Familiarity with API testing and environmental systems automation.
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
+ Experience with agile development methodologies is a plus.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
