    Job Description

    The Michigan Department of Treasury is seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientedExecutive Secretaryto provide comprehensive administrative and executive support to the Bureau Director of the Bureau of Local Government and School Services. This position plays a key role in ensuring the efficient operation of the Bureau by managing sensitive communications, coordinating internal and external interactions, and supporting human resource functions.

    Responsibilities Include:

    + Providing high-level executive and administrative support to the Bureau Director.

    + Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and ensuring timely follow-up on action items.

    + Serving as a liaison between the Bureau Director, division staff, administrators, and other Treasury bureaus and state agencies.

    + Assisting with Human Resources functions.

    Required Education and Experience:

    + Experience providing administrative support in a professional office setting.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

    + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    + Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school.

    Experience

    Six years of administrative support experience where use of a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc., or to enter/retrieve/update information is an essential part of the work, including three years equivalent to advanced (8) level administrative support work, Secretary E8, or Legal Secretary E8; two years equivalent to a Secretary 9, Legal Secretary 9, or Senior Executive Management Assistant 9; or, one year equivalent to a Division Head Legal Secretary 10 or Executive Secretary E10.

    Hybrid Remote Work.This position is eligible to work remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and must work onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays.     Vacation and Sick Leave:Eligible full-time employees receive between15 and 35 personal daysand 13 sick daysper year that may be rolled over to the following year if not used. Eligible employees also receive an additional day each year for community service or school functions.

     

    Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.

     

    Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year’s Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
