    Summary PUERTO RICO NATIONAL GUARD ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Duty Location: JFHQ-PR, United States Property & Fiscal Office (USPFO), Fort Buchanan, PR Responsibilities This position requires military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). Selected applicant(s) will be required to complete an online Onboarding process. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: HRO MUST process and clear the Department of Defense (DoD), Priority Placement Program (PPP), prior to advertising all internal and external job vacancies and promotion announcements. AREA 1 = All permanent Technician Warrant Officers and Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. AREA 2 = All indefinite Technician Warrant Officers and Enlisted employee's members (NG T32/NG T5) within Puerto Rico Army National Guard. AREA 3 = Warrant Officers and Enlisted currently serving members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (All other Areas will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Candidates). To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor. Acceptance of any military technician position may cause the termination of entitlements and eligibility for all military bonuses and student loan repayments. DUTIES: As a AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVES HANDLER SUPERVISOR (D1139000),WS-6501-7, you will supervise subordinates, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders or supervisors in accomplishing ammunition and explosives operations. The occupation and non-supervisory grade level work that best reflects the nature of the operations supervised is Ammunition and Explosives Handler, WG-6501-07. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Requires moderate to strenuous physical exertion when climbing, stooping, standing, bending, stretching and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Routinely required to lift heavy objects weighing up to 40 pounds and with mechanical assistance devices lifts items weighing over 40 pounds. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed inside and outside in areas that may be hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted. Adheres to fire, safety and security regulations within assigned areas. The incumbent is regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls and injury from falling stock. May be subject to exposure of explosive hazards and chemical fumes. Assignments may require protective clothing such as hardhats, steel-toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, and rubber aprons. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: You will lose consideration for the position if your application does not include all the information/documents requested on the vacancy announcement. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to use and maintain tools and equipment associated with the type of work to be done, and to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Experience which demonstrates the knowledge of and the ability to apply safety standards. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess at least ONE (1) year of specialized experience at the occupational series code 6501, or the equivalent Twelve (12) months performing or supervising duties such as supervises, on a regular and recurring basis, workers involved in handling, examining, and identifying ammunition and explosives; plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel; review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; working knowledge involving the receipt, storage, packing, issue, and transfer of the Ammunition, and Explosives, and Toxic Materials; resolves informal complaints and grievances at the lowest possible level and ensures adequate personnel, materials and equipment are available. Education There are NO educational requirements for this position at this time.
