             UPMC is hiring a Senior ServiceNow Platform Engineer, to join their IT Service Management team. The Senior ServiceNow Platform Engineer is a key technical role responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of the ServiceNow platform. This position focuses on delivering scalable, maintainable, and high-quality solutions within the ServiceNow ecosystem to support enterprise IT and business processes. The Senior Analyst will collaborate closely with process owners, stakeholders, and the ServiceNow platform team to translate business requirements into efficient technical implementations. Responsibilities: + Design, build, and maintain solutions using Flow Designer, Script Includes, Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, and other ServiceNow components. + Configure and customize core ITSM applications (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge) and support other modules as needed. + Develop and support integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using REST APIs, IntegrationHub, and JSON/XML data exchanges. + Participate in the full development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and documentation. + Maintain and enforce coding standards, platform governance, and best practices for performance, security, and scalability. + Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, perform root cause analysis, and provide production support when needed. + Collaborate with business analysts and process managers to identify automation opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives. + Create and maintain technical documentation including solution designs, release notes, and update set details. + Stay current on ServiceNow releases, new features, and emerging best practices to recommend and implement platform improvements. + Typically, a four-year academic degree in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, or systems engineering, and/or at least five years of practical experience in core IT functions in an engineer role. + Solid Experience with ServiceNow systems, modules, or similar platforms. + Solid Experience in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or equivalent. Solid Experience in understanding the DevSecOps model and its implementation. + Solid Experience understanding with Agile methodologies for software development. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact at all levels of management. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to high-quality work. + Ability to manage multiple tasks and work streams while providing clear progress updates to leadership. + Capability to draft and document comprehensive test plans for both technical and business audiences. + Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to quickly learn new technologies and concepts. + An elevated level of customer service and collaboration in team environments. + Ability to independently architect an automation solution based on requirements. + Experience mentoring others Must Have: + 3-5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in a technical or developer role. + Proven expertise with Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Catalog Items. + Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow data models. + Experience supporting ITSM processes and workflows in an enterprise environment. + Demonstrated ability to analyze complex requirements and deliver scalable, efficient solutions. + Familiarity with update sets, scoped applications, and ServiceNow best practices for platform maintenance Preferred: + Experience with Performance Analytics, Reporting, and Flow Designer IntegrationHub spokes. + Knowledge of Agile methodologies, Sprint Planning, User Acceptance Testing and Release Management + Understanding of ITIL concepts and experience aligning solutions with ITSM best practices. + Current or past UPMC employee or contractor.
