This position supports the Director in overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, cash and debt management, and compliance with state and federal regulations. The Deputy Director provides strategic and technical guidance to division managers and staff, ensures adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and governmental accounting standards (GASB), and contributes to the development and implementation of financial policies and internal controls. The role also involves coordinating the annual audit, preparing the County’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and supporting long-term financial planning. In the Director’s absence, the Deputy Director assumes responsibility for departmental leadership and decision-making. HOURS/DAYS: This is a full-time, hybrid position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position is expected to work on-site at least three days per week, with the option to work remotely up to two days per week depending on business needs. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs. There is some pressure associated with dealing with individuals who may be emotionally charged and with project or activity deadlines and details. Individuals operating a motor vehicle for county business must possess a valid driver's license.
