    Job Description

    The Systems Engineer will support highly technical platform and application engineering efforts related to M&A projects. This role will deliver third line technical support and project planning for system design. Providing analysis, diagnosis and resolution of customers IT issues for software and hardware. The role also requires a high level of BAU technical IT support across the Gallagher infrastructure, involving escalations from Service Desk and Desk Side Support and assisting with IT related project work.

     

    The individual must be an SME in one of the Datacentre infrastructure disciplines specified. The role will become the M&A Project SME, will be responsible for technical initiatives/projects and innovation including Architectural, Engineering and Problem Mgmt and be capable of working with stakeholders to improve/influence the M&A migration process.

    Skills and Requirements

    • A solid understanding of how applications interact with the Windows Operating System is a essential part of this role;

    • Enterprise Microsoft products; VMware 5.5, 6.5; Active Directory;

    • High availability and DR concepts essential;

    • VMWare SRM; F5 Load balancers;

    • Linux OS;

    • Significant experience in providing 3rd level (or higher) support within a corporate environment;

    • Able to demonstrate key involvement in a technical project;

    • Working with Microsoft and Windows based products;

    • Mentoring and development of technical peers;

    • Experience of supporting high availability and large server estates;
