    Job Description

    A certified pharmacy technician working in the department typically begins the day by preparing IV batches using sterile compounding techniques, ensuring all supplies and medications are properly labeled and documented. Throughout the shift, they manage the pharmacy window, assisting nurses and clinical staff with medication pickups and urgent requests. They also handle incoming phone calls, addressing inquiries about medication orders, availability, and delivery times, while escalating clinical questions to pharmacists. Additional responsibilities include restocking automated dispensing cabinets, supporting pharmacists with data entry, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The technician plays a vital role in keeping operations smooth, accurate, and responsive across the pharmacy.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Certified Pharmacy Technician (cPhT)

     

    Experience in a hospital/ retail pharmacy setting

     

    1+ year of experience IV Badging experience
