    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a skilled Utilities Start-Up Engineer for one of our clients to lead and support the commissioning and start-up of HVAC and infrastructure systems for new facilities. The ideal candidate will coordinate with OEM vendors, manage punch list activities, and ensure all systems are brought online safely, efficiently, and to specification. This role requires expertise in HVAC systems, infrastructure commissioning, and vendor management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    -OEM Vendor Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison with OEM vendors for HVAC and infrastructure equipment. Schedule, coordinate, and oversee vendor activities to ensure timely and successful start-up.

     

    -Punch List Management: Develop, track, and close punch lists for HVAC and infrastructure systems. Ensure all deficiencies are documented, communicated, and resolved prior to project completion.

     

    -System Commissioning: Lead the commissioning process for HVAC and utility infrastructure, including functional testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification.

     

    -Contractor Oversight: Provide direction to contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.

     

    -Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance during start-up, identify issues, and implement corrective actions to achieve optimal operation.

     

    -Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of commissioning activities, punch list status, and vendor interactions. Prepare reports for project stakeholders.

     

    -Primary Point of Contact: Act as the main contact for all HVAC and infrastructure start-up activities, facilitating communication between contractors, vendors, and project teams.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related field & experience.

     

    -Minimum of 2 years of experience in utilities start-up, HVAC commissioning, or infrastructure engineering.

     

    -Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, utility infrastructure, and commissioning protocols.

     

    -Proven experience in vendor and contractor management.

     

    -Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

     

    -Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines.

     

    -Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite -Experience with Navisworks & BIM360
