Job Description
A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to manage day-to-day AP functions supporting multiple community and grant-funded programs. This individual will process invoices, code expenses to the correct programs, and ensure timely and accurate vendor payments through QuickBooks Online (QBO). The role requires maintaining organized, audit-ready records and collaborating closely with accounting leadership to reconcile transactions and support funding compliance. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in accounts payable within a nonprofit or government-funded environment, exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational skills to manage multiple recurring payments and deadlines.

Skills and Requirements
• 3–5 years of hands-on accounts payable experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) or QuickBooks Desktop (QBLL)
• Ability to code invoices accurately to the correct program or funding source
• Strong organizational skills with experience managing high volumes of vendor payments
• Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to maintain audit-ready documentation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with accounting leadership • Prior experience in a nonprofit, federal, or grant-funded environment
• Exposure to government billing or compliance reporting
• Familiarity with vendors supporting facilities or shelter operations (food service, maintenance, security, laundry, etc.)
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
