    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a Buyer to join a manufacturing company based in West Hartford, CT. The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, components, and services necessary for production. This role requires someone who can balance cost, quality, and

     

    lead times while building strong relationships with suppliers. You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to keep the lines running without interruption—

     

    and to keep costs in check. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

     

    -Source and buy raw materials, parts, and manufacturing supplies as needed,

     

    ensuring timely deliveries to support production schedules

     

    -Evaluate vendor quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and drive cost improvements

     

    without sacrificing quality

     

    -Review and release purchase orders, track delivery status, and resolve any supply

     

    or quality issues

     

    -Partner with engineering, planning, and production to understand requirements and

     

    anticipate needs

     

    -Maintain accurate records of supplier contracts, pricing, and performance metrics

     

    -Identify and vet new suppliers, perform risk assessment, and qualify vendors in

     

    alignment with company standards

    Skills and Requirements

     

    -Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience equal to 3+ years of sourcing and/or supply chain experience

     

    -3+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. -Negotiation skills and a strong understanding of supplier relationship management

     

    - Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications is a plus

     

    -Strong organization, problem-solving, and communication skills

     

    -Self-starter who thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
