    Job Summary:

    The Logistics Analyst plays a crucial role in optimizing the supply chain and logistics processes within an organization. This position involves analyzing data related to transportation, warehousing, and inventory management to identify areas for improvement. The Logistics Analyst develops and implements strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of goods.

    Responsibilities:

    • Data Analysis

    • Collect and analyze data related to logistics processes and procedures

    • Identify trends and patterns in data to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness

    • Regularly report on data findings to relevant stakeholders

    • Supply Chain Management

    • Monitor inventory levels and track shipments of goods

    • Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods

    • Identify and resolve any supply chain issues or delays

    • Cost Management

    • Monitor logistics costs and identify areas for cost savings or efficiency improvements

    • Negotiate contracts and rates with logistics providers

    • Analyze transportation and storage costs to optimize budget allocation

    • Process Improvement

    • Identify areas for process improvement within the logistics department

    • Implement new procedures and systems to increase efficiency and reduce costs

    • Regularly review and update logistics processes to ensure effectiveness

    • Project Management

    • Plan and execute logistics projects, such as warehouse reorganization or transportation route optimization

    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success

    • Monitor project timelines and budgets to ensure on-time and within budget completion

    • Risk Management

    • Identify potential risks in logistics operations and develop mitigation strategies

    • Monitor and track potential risks, such as supplier disruptions or natural disasters

    • Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential risks on logistics operations

    • Communication and Collaboration

    • Communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and vendors to ensure smooth logistics operations

    • Collaborate with other departments to optimize supply chain and logistics processes

    • Serve as a liaison between logistics and other departments to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.

    Qualifications:

    • A bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management or a related field with at least 2 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.

    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).

    • In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

    • Experience with inventory management software and systems.

    • Ability to develop and implement inventory optimization strategies.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

     

    The estimated salary range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000 plus bonus.   Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.  At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
