Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Construction Manager to lead our HVAC retrofit operations. This role is responsible for overseeing project execution, managing teams, supporting sales and estimating, and ensuring high-quality delivery across all phases of construction. Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Strategy

Set work priorities and monitor team performance to align with departmental goals.

Develop and manage budgets, capital expenditures, and purchasing approvals.

Communicate goals and expectations to field supervisors, project managers, and support staff.

Assign Project Managers to new projects and oversee scheduling to optimize personnel and resources.

• Project Oversight

Lead project review and production meetings.

Review job costing reports for retrofit projects.

Ensure proper documentation and implementation from project kickoff to close-out.

Provide technical guidance and support throughout project lifecycle.

• Sales & Estimating Support

Assist with project development and estimating.

Review and approve estimates.

Gather market intelligence and interpret customer specifications to shape quotation strategies.

• Team & Vendor Management

Recruit, interview, and hire retrofit staff as needed.

Maintain vendor relationships and coordinate with external partners.

Provide supervision and mentorship to Project Managers and General Foremen.

Develop and deliver training sessions for team members.

• Quality & Customer Relations

Maintain quality standards through site visits and stakeholder engagement.

Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests.

Ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles meet operational needs and customer expectations.

• Financial & Safety Oversight

Collaborate with Finance and PMs on monthly forecasts and financial tracking.

Maintain strong safety protocols and compliance across all job sites.

Ensure proper recordkeeping and procedural controls.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of experience in HVAC field and/or construction management.

2+ years of experience in estimating and pipe fitting trades.

Background in tooling, machining, fabrication, or construction environments.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

Strong technical writing and ability to interpret construction drawings/plans.

Proven leadership, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to manage detailed work, drive project completion, and lead teams effectively.
