    Job Description

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Configuration Manager in Kettering, OH (Dayton, WPAFB) to support the EPASS GB contract within the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate. This role supports the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Initiative (MRO), a transformational effort to standardize and optimize Air Force depot maintenance operations. The Senior Configuration Manager will lead configuration management (CM) activities across software, hardware, and documentation, ensuring traceability, integrity, and compliance throughout the system lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing CM plans, conducting audits, supporting change control boards, and maintaining system baselines and repositories. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams including engineers, quality managers, and program leadership in an integrated product team environment. The role also involves evaluating contractor CM programs, supporting licensing and software delivery, and ensuring adherence to CDRL requirements. This is a high-impact position that plays a critical role in enabling agile planning and execution for Air Force sustainment operations.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - BA/BS Degree in a relevant discipline and 8 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed

     

    - Demonstrated experience managing configuration items and maintaining system artifacts such as documentation, source code, and build scripts to support software release and deployment.

     

    - Proven ability to implement and administer Configuration Management (CM) plans, including maintaining identification, change control, and status accounting records.

     

    - Skilled in conducting and supporting audits (e.g., PCAs, FCAs), engineering assessments, and evaluating contractor CM programs for compliance and completeness.

     

    - Experience participating in and managing cross-functional change control boards (e.g., CCB, FRB, RRB), including tracking proposed and approved changes throughout the system lifecycle.

     

    - Strong background in maintaining CM libraries and repositories, managing software baselines, and ensuring traceability and integrity across ERP and IT systems.

     

    - Proficient in tracking and managing Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Change Requests (CRs), and Discrepancy/Problem Reports (DRs/PRs) across development and sustainment phases to ensure baseline integrity and traceability. ​• Certification in Software Configuration Management - Desired.
