I. JOB SUMMARY:
The role of the Senior Vice President (SVP), and President of the Queen's University Medical Group (QUMG) is to lead the organization to fulfill the intent and mission of its founders, Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV. In doing so, The SVP & President QUMG leads with the value of its founders and commits to preserve and honor The Queen’s Health Systems’ (QHS) unique heritage.
The SVP & President QUMG has full responsibility to provide leadership and strategic oversight of QUMG. As a key member of the QHS executive leadership, the SVP & President QUMG has responsibility for establishing the strategy, direction and culture of the organization consistent with its mission and values as well as the full responsibility for operational and regulatory compliance of QUMG; developing and achieving corporate goals and objectives and initiatives; and, implementing procedures that adequately safeguard the assets of all entities assigned.
Includes leading a culture of high reliability, standardizing quality patient care, buidling/strengthening networks, leading continuous process improvement, maintaining high patient/staff experience and utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve quality and superior services across the continuum of care through alignment with QHS strategic goals and initiatives. Leads the conception and enhancement of growth initiatives, board and administrative structures, effective financial management, provider recruitment, retention, development, wellness, engagement initiatives and overall accountability for areas assigned. Serves as the physician leader of the Medical Group who advocates for health and development of its members. Directs emergency management preparations for areas assigned.
Has direct responsibility for ensuring the effective professional revenue cycle management and operations of QUMG. Ensures hospitals and clinics are adequately supplied with physicians to provide primary care, specialty care, on-call coverages in coordination with hospital and clinic leadership.
Other areas of responsibility and organizational wide initiatives and programs may be assigned to the SVP & President QUMG.

III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION:
• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or related field.
• Graduate degree required.
B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
• Certification and/or coursework in practice management, Six Sigma, LEAN or other appropriate area of study preferred.
C. EXPERIENCE:
• Eight (8) years of progressively responsible executive/management experience managing an integrated physician network with an understanding of hospital and clinic operations, heath care finance, managing payer contracting/reimbursement, regulatory environment, insurance industry trends and products, and health care delivery systems across the continuum.
• Must have in-depth knowledge and demonstrated experience in the areas of physician practice management, financial management, health insurance negotiation, and contracting for both fee for service and value-based products, marketing, billing and informatics systems and human resources.
• Demonstrated experience in building an infrastructure that can support current business and projected growth for an organization with similar dynamics.
• Demonstrated experience in successful risk assumption, population health programs and delivery of quality outcomes and financial performance.
• Proven leadership experience in managing a health system's multi-specialty/primary care employed provider network and contracted physician arrangements across a multi-hospital and clinic setting.
• Experience to demonstrate a leadership role in successfully implementing projects and initiatives which have major impact to an organization.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current health care environment, forward-thinking ideas and ability to motivate others.
• Executive/management experience demonstrating effective leadership skills, preferably in an organization comparable to The Queen's Health Systems.
• Experience in business planning, development and administration with a successful record of business ventures and decisions.
