    About this role:

    The Product Manager, Furnaces is responsible for leading the strategic direction, roadmaps, new product development, portfolio lifecycle management, annual planning, and commercialization for Residential furnace products. This includes everything from market research and conceptualization to launch and post-market performance optimization. The product manager owns the product value proposition as well as the business viability for furnaces and accessories. The product manager will drive innovation, ensuring our products align with market demands, industry standards, and technological advancements. This role will work closely with controls and other Residential HVAC equipment product managers helping to develop and execute Carrier’s system strategy of delivering value to Carrier, our channel, and homeowners.

     

    This role will also require strong communication skills and the ability to tailor the message as appropriate for the target audience. The successful candidate will have an innovative customer first mindset and be forward thinking striving to meet the future needs of the market. Success will require the ability to think strategically and to develop innovative solutions.

     

    The candidate must have balanced knowledge between engineering, Residential HVAC, marketing, innovation and go to market strategy. Foundational skills for this role include understanding of the Residential HVAC Market, the ability to work cross collaboratively across the organization, the ability to work independently with minimal oversight, and general business management skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Develop strategic vision and market strategies for Carrier in Residential furnaces

    + Research, develop and manage New Product development projects from conception through launch.

    + Responsible for prioritizing and guiding the updates to our furnace products to ensure that our offering remains best in class.

    + Clearly articulates product features and value at speaking events such as with internal stakeholders, distributor, dealer, sales, and recruitment meetings.

    + Fosters cross functional integration with product platforms.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree

    + 5 + years of experience in one of the following: product management, Marketing, engineering, training, and/or Business Development

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree with 3 + years of experience Passion for servicing customers. Ability to listen to customer needs and quickly act to solve their problems, provide quality solutions and go above and beyond to exceed their expectations.

    + Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to pull data from multiple sources and synthesis in both graphic and verbal format, so that it is easily understood by the target audience.

    + Proven ability to execute with speed and exhibit a bias for action mindset.

    + Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal format across a wide audience.Ability to quickly identify new and innovative ways to work faster and simpler.

    + Demonstrates for The Carrier Way: Passion for customers, Play to Win, Choose Speed, Achieve Results, Dare to Disrupt, Build Best Teams.Ability to think outside the box, innovate, take risks, and implement progressive sustainable solutions.

    + Ability to work in a self-directed manner to identify needs of the organization and/or customer, articulate necessary proposals, and see projects through to completion.

    + Strong ability to lead and develop diverse, cross-functional project teams to achieve high-performance levels in a dynamic, changing environment.

    + Understanding of HVAC product applications and marketplace dynamics.Clear understanding of basic marketing principles is preferred.

    + Previous experience working with engineering and business/sales is preferred.

    + Advanced level skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
