About the Role:
TAI is seeking a Project Engineer to manage and execute control system projects from initiation to closeout. We need an experienced Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineer (minimum 5 years) to act as the primary contact and project manager, ensuring successful delivery by expertly coordinating client needs with the internal technical team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in PLC/HMI systems and industrial networking, and the ability to manage project scope, budget, and schedule effectively.

Here’s a glimpse into your day to day:
+ Ensuring project deliverables meet TAI and client expectations.
+ Managing all phases of a project – initiation, planning, execution, monitoring & controlling, and close out.
+ Provide a single point of contact between TAI and client – getting info from client for the design, providing the client with necessary information and resolving most project issues with the client.
+ Assist with engineering specifications and project cost estimates.
+ Review work of project design team, check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and addition.
+ Directing others in the development of HMI, PLC, and other programming codes.
+ Coordination within TAI for multi-discipline coordination if required.
+ Contractor coordination.
+ Delegate and supervise engineering tasks assigned to project team.
+ Developing and maintaining project schedules.
+ Preparing initial budget, tracking overall costs, approving pending invoices, and pursuing change orders as required.
+ Performing overall project quality control.
+ Capable to self-perform within their engineering discipline at or above an engineer level.
+ Keep the Account Manager informed of significant issues associated with the project.
+ Direct CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.
You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
+ Minimum 5 years of applicable experience.
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) license is a plus.
+ Professional Engineer licensure and/or Certified Automation Professional (CAP) is a plus.
+ Effectively manage multiple ongoing projects and tasks.
+ Strong ability to manage engineering teams working on projects.
+ Ability to interact with customers to gather critical information.
+ Great leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Capable of performing field surveys to document existing conditions.
+ Capable of reviewing and approving PLC control panel designs as it relates to customer requirements.
+ Working knowledge of programming control systems of one or more manufactures; Rockwell, Siemens, Emerson family of processors and HMI’s.
+ Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols Ethernet/IP, Profibus and other industrial communication protocols.
+ Working knowledge of IT and network infrastructure to support industrial networks.
+ Experience working with SCADA systems, SQL databases, and historian/reporting software is a plus.
+ Experience working with project management software (MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
+ Experience with general Building Automation System controls and sequence of operations.
+ Working Knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70) and NFPA 70e.
+ Working knowledge of ISA standards and ability to interpret and contribute to the review of P&IDs.
+ Basic knowledge of Codes and Standards such as ASME BPVC, API Standards, piping codes, NFPA codes and electrical classifications.
+ Ability to perform field work that will include walking, kneeling, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and/or ladders.
+ Must be willing to travel to client sites.
Compensation and Benefits:
+ Pay: $100,000-145,000 annually (based upon experience)
+ Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
