As a UW employee, you have a unique opportunity to change lives on our campuses, in our state and around the world. UW employees offer their boundless energy, creative problem-solving skills, and dedication to build stronger minds and a healthier world. UW faculty and staff also enjoy outstanding benefits, professional growth opportunities and unique resources in an environment noted for diversity, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits, and natural beauty.

UW Tacoma’s Office of Community Partnerships has an outstanding opportunity for a part-time, .8 FTE (32 hours per week) Community Engagement Data Manager to join their team.

This position reports to the Assistant Chancellor for Community Partnerships in the UW Tacoma Office of Community Partnerships. Work will be directed by the Administrator of the Office of Community Partnerships, with regular support and collaboration with the project manager leading the tri-campus rollout of the community engagement management system. This is an in-person position based at UW Tacoma with the option to work remotely up to one workday per week.

The Office of Community Partnerships (OCP) is involved in systematic data collection and overall assessment of our community partnerships. The UW Tacoma Community Engagement Data Manager will be the lead technical personnel involved in managing two community engagement data systems, Collaboratory and Community Connect UW (CCUW) and will engage and provide training directly for faculty, staff, and community partners to generate buy-in, manage data intake for community-engaged courses, and track co-curricular engagement. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with a team across UW’s Bothell, Tacoma, and Seattle campuses, working closely with campus leaders and stakeholders to support and advance the project. This position will maintain UW Tacoma’s existing community engagement data platform, Collaboratory, and lead the implementation of a new tri-campus community engagement management system, CCUW. The new system will enhance our ability to collect, track, analyze, and report on community-engaged courses, community partnerships, student civic engagement, and institution-wide management of related activities.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Community Engagement Data Manager will have the following responsibilities:

Data Platform System Implementation, Adoption and Management: 50%

Serve as the primary UW Tacoma contact working with key stakeholders to successfully manage the implementation of CCUW. This includes:

+ Oversee API-based data integration to support inbound/outbound migration, dashboards, and live feed visualizations for community engagement reporting from other data platforms currently in use across the Tacoma campus for tracking different aspects of community engagement (e.g., Collaboratory, Canvas, Tandem, Handshake).

+ In collaboration with the tri-campus Project Manager, UW Bothell and Seattle counterparts, and the UW Tacoma Program Manager, support UW Tacoma users by advising on systems integrations, data validations, and/or work-around processes and by aligning the CCUW specifications, responsibilities, and data deliverables for community engaged courses and activities.

    Communications and Engagement: 25%

+ Build and maintain partnerships as UW Tacoma’s primary contact for adopting and managing the Collaboratory and CCUW platforms.

+ Work closely with the tri-campus Project Manager and internal stakeholders – including regular coordination with the UWT Program Manager – to train faculty and staff and support the successful adoption and use of CCUW.

+ Develop and deliver training sessions and provide ongoing support to faculty, staff, and community partners on the use of CCUW. Collaborate with the UWT Program Manager to align training materials with broader change management and adoption strategies.

+ Engage potential new campus partners in utilizing the Collaboratory and CCUW data platforms to support their community engagement courses, research, and scholarship activities.

+ Assist with reports, PowerPoint slide development, public presentations, and information dissemination, as needed.

Data Analysis, Visualization and Assessment: 15%

+ Serve as the main point of contact for data management between UW Tacoma’s Information Technology, Office of Community Partnerships, and external partners.

+ Use available tools and software to organize, analyze and present data on community engagement activities.
