    Business Development Representative - Home Health

     

    Responsible for establishing partnerships and generating home health referral growth for the agency. This position makes effective sales contacts, calls, and presentations. Additionally, this role serves as the agency staff liaison with physicians, facilities, discharge planners, and community agencies. In addition, this position oversees the overall development and referral growth of the assigned territory. This role ensures consistent communication and collaboration with relevant parties to achieve referral targets.

     

    Provides direct marketing of Home Based Service to assigned areas.

     

    Develops, implements, and evaluates quarterly and annual territory plans to achieve growth goals and implement agreed-upon strategies and actions.

     

    Develops business relationships with providers by making effective sales calls and presentations to targeted referral sources.

     

    Acts as liaison between referral partners and the agency to communicate information about new products, programs, and service delivery.

     

    Meets with patients and families to discuss home health, hospice, and palliative care services, individual needs/concerns, and manage expectations; obtains signed consent documents.

     

    Builds relationships within the admissions department and with patient care resources staff to ensure effective communication with referral sources and internal stakeholders.

     

    Updates and maintains customer and competitor profiles, logs daily call activity, and documents plans for follow-up activities with referral sources.

     

    Serves as agency staff liaison with physicians, facility nurses, social workers, discharge planners, and community agencies to facilitate the delivery of appropriate services for potential patients.

     

    Utilizes current agency and/or department-specific software to complete assignments and documents relevant information into electronic database systems.

     

    Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    Participates in marketing efforts to educate the healthcare community about home health and hospice programs, including physician calls, lunch and learns, health fairs, speakers bureau, and CEU programs for healthcare providers.

     

    Prepares monthly tracking reports on referral sources and keeps the agency informed of key marketplace changes relating to providers and competitors.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing and typing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required] Must have excellent oral communication skills. [Required] Knowledge of Communications and Public Relations procedures. [Required] Knowledge (intermediate to advanced) of the sales process. [Required] Knowledge of intermediate to advanced application of Microsoft Office Suite including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook as well as internet software. [Required] Ability to complete AdventHealth Home Care Orientation and Training, as necessary.
