    The role you will contribute:

    The Senior Specialist is an individual contributor supporting Adventist Health System's Executive Services human resource and benefit administration functions. Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in the human resource administration processes, benefit plans offered to the AHS employee population, onboarding, absence management programs, leave of absences, and support of related items for Executives. Serves as an escalation path to analyze and resolve more complex problems. Is responsible for staying up to date on applicable legal and regulatory changes, updates to internal policy and processes, and new system functionality. This individual is responsible for processing transactions while working to ensure compliance with facility/organization policy and federal, local, and state regulations.

    + Processes workforce management data changes.

    + Assists Executives with personal information updates.

    + Handles facility re-organization requests.

    + Researches and completes manual hire/transfers for Executives.

    + Manages benefit documents.

    + Manages the candidate onboarding process post-offer acceptance.

    + Coordinates Level II background screening.

    + Assists candidates with logistics.

    + Ensures timely hire clearance.

    + Acts as a subject matter expert in absence management programs.

    + Provides guidance to team members on process and policy-related issues.

    + Serves as the first point of escalation for complex absence management cases.

    The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

    + Bachelor's degree Required

    + 5 Work Experience Required

    + Knowledge and understanding of AHS benefits administration, including applicable state and federal regulations surrounding FMLA, HIPAA, PPACA (ACA), ERISA, IRS and DOL regulations

    + Ability to analyze research and analyze data and make sound decisions

    + Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage change

    + Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing

    + Skilled in providing quality customer service, including the ability to listen and understand information being presented, as well as the ability to deescalate issues and resolve complaints with win-win solutions whenever possible

    + Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with a diverse group of people to meet goals and objectives

    + Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, delegate and oversee multiple projects while adhering to service-level agreements and other tight deadlines

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Preferred

    + Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS)-IFEBP Preferred
