    Lead Infrastructure Engineer

     

    As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing third-party provision of infrastructure services and providing expertise to develop architectural solutions for infrastructure services throughout the service product lifecycle. You will oversee programs and projects, collaborate with software and data engineers to operationalize technical designs, and lead infrastructure specialist teams in building, managing, supporting, and maintaining solutions aligned with architectural guidelines. This global role is critical to ensuring the seamless integration of modern infrastructure solutions that drive business success.

    YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary responsibilities of this role, Lead Infrastructure Engineer, are to:

    + Lead teams in the design, implementation, administration, and support of infrastructure solutions and services;

    + Identify information security risks and design solutions with embedded security controls to mitigate threats;

    + Leverage modern standards and practices, coaching others in their application;

    + Take accountability for issues, proactively identifying and resolving potential problems;

    + Initiate and monitor actions to investigate patterns and trends to resolve problems, determining appropriate remedies and preventative measures;

    + Design systems characterized by medium levels of risk, impact, and complexity, ensuring efficient use of resources and integration of multiple systems;

    + Establish standards and procedures across the service product lifecycle, ensuring adherence by practitioners;

    + Manage system and acceptance test planning, providing authoritative advice and identifying process improvements;

    + Troubleshoot and resolve problems across various technology capabilities, including computing, storage, networking, and software;

    + Collaborate with stakeholders to establish solutions that align with business objectives.

    WHO YOU ARE

    Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience);

    + Extensive experience in infrastructure engineering or a related role;

    + Proven track record of managing large-scale infrastructure projects and leading technical teams;

    + Experience in a leadership or team lead role, with demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team of engineers;

    + Significant experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud infrastructure;

    + Deep expertise in network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.);

    + Comprehensive knowledge of server and storage systems;

    + Advanced proficiency with virtualization technologies;

    + Expertise in cloud architecture, hybrid cloud solutions, and multi-cloud strategies;

    + Advanced scripting and automation skills;

    + Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues;

    + Advanced analytical skills to evaluate system performance and identify optimization opportunities;

    + Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and strategic planning;

    + Ability to align technical initiatives with business objectives and drive strategic infrastructure improvements.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Advanced certifications (e.g., CCNP, Microsoft Certified, AWS Certified, Azure Solutions Expert);

    + Expertise in DevOps practices and tools;

    + Experience with emerging technologies such as edge computing, AI/ML infrastructure, and software-defined networking (SDN);

    + Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in the industry;

    + Experience with ITIL and other IT service management frameworks.

    Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $130,038.40 to $195,057.60. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
