Summary:
Meta’s Reality Labs Wireless Technology team is driving innovation in wearable wireless capabilities for AR/VR devices. We are seeking PhD-level Research Scientist Interns passionate about applying artificial intelligence and machine learning to wireless technologies. Interns will work at the intersection of cutting-edge research, platform development, and practical system integration, contributing to products that reach millions of users worldwide.Our internships are twelve (12) to sixteen (16) weeks long.
Required Skills:
Wireless Engineer Intern, AI Platform Integration (PhD) Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research and analysis on next-generation AR/VR wireless technologies under complex radio and network conditions
2. Develop and integrate AI/ML solutions to optimize wireless performance and enhance user experience
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate concepts through analytical studies, simulations, and real-world testing
4. Propose new use cases or enhancements for wireless systems and platforms
Minimum Qualifications:

5. Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
6. Demonstrated experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms
7. Understanding of wireless technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 5G, RF, antenna systems)
8. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
9. Effective written and verbal communication abilities
10. Works independently and collaboratively in a research-driven environment

11. Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
12. Deep knowledge of AI/ML algorithms, including supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning
13. Experience in deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras)
14. Experience integrating AI/ML models into Over-the-Air (OTA) antenna validation platforms or test automation frameworks
15. Familiarity with software and hardware co-design for wireless systems
16. Experience designing APIs or middleware for AI-driven test automation
17. Hands-on experience with antenna simulation environments (e.g., CST, HFSS, FEKO)
18. Prior work in adaptive control systems or predictive modeling for wireless applications
19. Understanding of explainable AI (XAI) and model interpretability techniques
Public Compensation:
$6,688/month to $11,467/month + benefits
