EOF Student Development Specialist
Under the general direction of the Director of the Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program and the direct supervision of the Associate Director of the EOF Program, the Student Development Specialist (Professional Services Specialist 2) provides comprehensive academic, personal (as it pertains to academic progress) and career counseling guidance to a diverse student population and facilitates EOF Program efforts to address student retention and initiatives within the Program. The Specialist will support program objectives to ensure that all students obtain their baccalaureate degree and pursue professional fields of work or graduate studies consistent with the Kean University’s dual mission of access and academic excellence.
This position is partially funded by a grant through the State of New Jersey. Future employment is contingent upon supporting grant funds. _This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours._
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Master’s degree and three years of professional experience in an institution of higher education providing student support services or counseling services is required. Experience in higher education specifically related to personal, academic and career counseling for educationally and financially disadvantaged students is preferred. Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs, computer databases and technologies, such as web-based services and social media.

In compliance with New Jersey’s Pay Transparency Law, the negotiated annual salary range for this position is: $73,899.90 – $84,980.24 (Steps 1-4). Salaries for internal applicants will be based on union negotiated calculations. This position may also be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and benefits for work life balance.
