We are seeking a motivated and highly reliable individual to join our Supply Chain team in a unique Warehouse and Logistics Technician role. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to master both the physical flow of materials and the administrative aspects of procurement, building a versatile skill set essential for career advancement.
Position Summary
This cross-functional position is the backbone of our material management, splitting time between core warehouse operations and essential procurement support. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager and receiving functional training from our Purchaser, you will ensure our inventory is accurate, our projects are kitted correctly, and our purchase orders are tracked efficiently.
What You Will Do: Dual Responsibilities1. Warehouse Operations & Inventory (Primary Focus)
+ Receiving & Inspection: Accurately receive, inspect, and verify all incoming materials against purchase orders (POs) and packing slips.
+ Material Flow: Perform timely and accurate put-away of inventory and execute material picking and staging for project kits and manufacturing orders.
+ Shipping: Prepare all outgoing shipments, including professional packaging, labeling, and coordination with freight carriers, generating all necessary shipping documents.
+ Inventory Control: Execute daily and weekly cycle counts, investigate discrepancies, and support full physical inventory counts to maintain high inventory accuracy (KPI target 98%).
+ Safety: Safely operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jacks) and strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
2. Procurement & Administrative Support (Trained Focus)
+ PO Tracking: Under the Purchaser's guidance, track open purchase orders, follow up on delivery dates with vendors, and confirm acknowledgments.
+ Vendor Communication: Serve as a professional liaison to vendors to resolve basic shipment issues, such as missing documentation or minor delays.
+ Data Entry: Accurately enter and update purchasing data, lead times, and vendor information within our ERP/inventory system.
+ Documentation: Assist with the administrative processing of vendor invoices, quotes, and maintenance of the vendor database.
Required Qualifications & Experience
+ Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a distribution center, warehouse, or logistics environment.
+ Education: High school diploma or GED required.
+ Technical Skills: Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and prior experience with an ERP or Inventory Management System is highly desirable.
+ Physical Requirements: Must be able to frequently lift and move material up to 50 pounds.
+ Certification: Forklift operator certification preferred (or the ability to obtain it immediately upon hire).
