Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
The Sr. IGA Engineer will be a key member of the new Versant Cyber organization. This individual is responsible for configuring, supporting, and optimizing enterprise identity governance platforms (e.g., SailPoint, Microsoft Entra, etc.) to manage identity lifecycle processes. They are expected to translate access control policies, compliance requirements, and security standards into enforceable rules within the applicable tools. This individual is a leader over the identity governance discipline and will interact with various key stakeholders within the Cyber organization to drive relationship management across the Versant business areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key areas of focus for the Sr. IGA Engineer include automating onboarding/offboarding and access transitions, connecting HR, directories, cloud platforms, and business apps, and ensuring evidence and logs are available and defensible. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities:
+ Configure and maintain identity governance platforms (e.g., SailPoint, Saviynt, Microsoft Entra ID Governance) to manage access lifecycle events across enterprise systems.
+ Integrate with directory services (e.g., Active Directory, Entra ID, LDAP) to ensure accurate identity data flow and synchronization across authoritative sources.
+ Promote, foster, and advocate for an environment of collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.
+ Lead efforts to define and implement role-based (RBAC) or attribute-based (ABAC) access models to enable scalable, policy-driven access control.
+ Implement automated identity lifecycle workflows, including joiner, mover, and leaver (JML) processes, aligned with business and compliance requirements.
+ Consult on complex enterprise-wide security assessments and engagements to help engineers see the big picture and incorporate enterprise technology direction into security roadmaps.
+ Work closely with application developers, infrastructure, GRC, and security operations to onboard new systems into the IGA platform and enforce access certification and policy controls.
+ Collaborate and drive productivity and effective integration with adjacent Versant Cyber functions and specifically the synergies required across the security stack and technology platforms.
+ Minimum 5 years experience working across cyber security disciplines to include but not limited to Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Engineering, Networking, Platforms, Cloud, or Information Security with a focus on identity governance.
+ Prior experience implementing or supporting enterprise-grade IGA tools such as SailPoint, Saviynt, Microsoft Entra ID Governance, ForgeRock, or equivalent.
+ Strong understanding of identity lifecycle workflows (joiner, mover, leaver).
+ Experience with access review campaigns, including manager certifications, SoD (segregation of duties), and policy enforcement.
+ Hands-on experience with configuring roles, entitlements, policies, and approval workflows within IGA platforms.
+ Understanding of identity and access-related compliance frameworks (e.g., SOX, NIST, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
+ Experience supporting audit evidence collection and compliance gap remediation.
+ Experience providing direct support and input to business executives and taking a lead role in driving the strategic direction of the organization’s mission.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field and/or equivalent work experience.
DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:
+ Previous experience working in multiple large complex environments and specifically within the Identity and/or Security Engineering components of those organizations.
+ Previous experience working in identity, security engineering, and/or information security functions in the media and advanced technology industries.
+ Master’s Degree in an IT related field.
