    The Strategic Consultant for Payments Optimization designs and delivers strategic and business development initiatives that improve efficiency and effectiveness of a high performing Commercial Payments team. This team plays a critical role in strategy execution by ensuring collaboration across business groups and market sectors. Our work encompasses multiple elements (facilitated learning, coaching, incentives, certifications, sales tools, and market events) that influence both the employee and customer experience.

     

    The Strategic Consultant plays a critical role in positioning Commercial Payments for future growth by leading enterprise initiatives and collaborating across key bank-wide stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Finance, Audit, Communications and Learning & Development as examples).

     

    As a member of the Commercial Payments Optimization team, this individual builds relationships and fosters a culture of collaboration across the enterprise to ensure employees have the knowledge, resources and tools to not only grow new business, but also their careers at FNBO. The Payments Optimization team is the equivalent to an internal, in-house strategy consulting team with a focus on the success of one client, the FNBO team.

    About This Role:

    Payments Optimization:

    Foster a culture of continuous learning and development by supporting all aspects of learning, coaching and incentive strategies for Commercial Payments business lines including strategic Treasury Services, Global Banking and Commercial Card. Supports Industry experts with deep business acumen supporting highly sophisticated customers: Payment Advisors, Global Business Development Directors, Commercial Card Account Managers, Channel Banking Executives, Community Association Banking Sales.

     

    Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to promote understanding and alignment of go-to-market strategies, including product roadmaps, enhancements, target markets, and sales use cases. Serve as a talent coach helping to develop knowledge, proficiency and confidence to consult with customers and propose solutions.

     

    Set strategic framework and best practices for sales approach, including sales playbooks, presentation templates, technical demonstrations, and competitive intelligence.

     

    Support strategy for customer experience and in-market customer events that position FNBO employees as strategic partners and industry thought leaders. Develop strategies to build employee expertise to be viewed as a trusted advisor (internally and externally).

    Performance Optimization:

    Partner across the enterprise to champion continuous process improvement initiatives. This includes facilitating discovery discussions, mapping the CX and EX to identify opportunities, summarizing the key findings and recommending solutions to generate revenue, increase efficiencies and optimize business strategies.

     

    Ensure consistency in sales tools and technology, by establishing best practices for usage and partnering with leaders to set expectations and hold teams accountable for usage.

     

    Provide dashboards, pipelines and leaderboards to promote a high-performance culture.

    Strategy Development:

    Support strategy development and annual planning for individual line of business with senior leaders to ensure alignment of business goals.

     

    Partner with Commercial Payments leaders to define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) aligned to business objectives and clearly demonstrate return on investment and impact to the business through a data-driven approach. Lead Commercial Payments rationalization exercises and build a clear business plan and operating model.

    The Ideal Candidate for This Role:

    Basic Qualifications:

    + Enrolled college student working towards a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in related field.

    + Undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher after sophomore year.

    + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

    + Above average administrative, oral, and written communication skills.

    + Ability to work independently and multitask within a professional environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Ability to conceptualize risks impacting the financial services industry.

    + Interest in the banking industry.

    + Ability to work full-time during summer (40 hours per week)

     

    Candidates must possess unrestricted work authorization and not require future sponsorship.
