The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and direction to Metro State Aid’s Cooperative Agreements Unit. Responsibilities include the management of the $5 million Local Partnership Program and other local projects involving State Funds so that locally let projects are selected, designed, processed, and built in accordance with the applicable State, State Aid, and Federal-aid requirements.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.
This position is located at district headquarters in Roseville and has the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule that includes in office and teleworking time. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
• Applicants must be licensed as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design or be able to obtain licensure through reciprocity.
AND
Three years of experience as an Engineer Senior or equivalent in the following areas:
• Knowledge of Federal, State Aid, and Trunk Highway funding sources.
• Knowledge, understanding, and experience with roadway engineering design and construction practices and principles so that rules may be interpreted and applied in practical roadway design and construction situations.
• Project management experience working with City and County Engineers on Federal, State, or State Aid projects.

• Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively with the public, businesses, elected officials and other governmental organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely sufficient to give direction, facilitate meetings, make public presentations, and answer project specific and policy questions both verbally and in writing.
