    As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering compassionate, high-quality cancer care. Under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist, you will administer ionizing radiation treatments in accordance with prescribed protocols, ensuring precision and safety at every step. You’ll also be responsible for patient simulation procedures, basic patient care, and education—helping patients feel informed and supported throughout their treatment journey.

    Posting Specifics

    + **Location:** Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital and Intermountain Health American Fork Hospital

    + **Shift Details and Hours** : PRN (as needed), with shifts varying based on departmental needs

    + **Additional Details** : Shift differentials given for evenings, nights and weekends

    Essential Functions

    + Interpret and accurately implement radiation treatment prescriptions and plans as directed by the Radiation Oncologist.

    + Administer and document all simulation and treatment procedures in accordance with established protocols.

    + Conduct simulation procedures, including the creation and application of appropriate immobilization devices to ensure precise treatment delivery.

    + Acquire accurate anatomical measurements, contours, and data necessary for dosimetry and treatment planning.

    + Provide compassionate, basic patient care during treatment sessions, ensuring comfort and safety.

    + Educate patients about their treatment process and monitor for clinical symptoms or side effects, reporting concerns to the care team.

    + Ensure timely and accurate documentation and billing for all treatment-related procedures.

    + **Empathy** – Maintains a patient-centered approach with sensitivity to emotional and physical challenges.

    + **Adaptability** – Responds effectively to changing clinical situations and patient needs.

    + **Team Collaboration** – Works cohesively with physicians, dosimetrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Valid Radiologic Technologist license in the state of practice

    + Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

    + Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited institution

    Physical Requirements:

    + Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

    + Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

    + Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

    + Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

    + Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)

    + May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

    + For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

    The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

     

    $46.91 - $72.39
