You’ll also contribute to establishing a robust supply chain so that we can continually produce the vehicles our customers want.

     

    In this position...

     

    Automotive wiring core buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating over 12,000 parts across Connectors, Terminals, and related electrical components across 18 suppliers with a North America TO of ~$1.2B. This role ensures cost-effective procurement while maintaining high standards of quality delivery performance while maintaining high standards of quality that meet PD/Ford specifications, and ensuring delivery/capacity. The buyer will work closely with engineering, program, and logistics teams to support new product launches, cost-reduction initiatives, and continuous supply chain improvements.

     

    What you'll do...

     

    + Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers for wiring components (connectors, terminals, clips, eyelets, etc.)

    + Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and supply agreements with domestic and global suppliers

    + Manage supplier performance through KPIs (on-time delivery, quality, cost responsiveness)

    + Work with T1 Ford team and T2 suppliers to optimize cost, while insuring lead times, and capacity are in line with part requirements

    + Drive cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiations, process improvements, and alternate sourcing

    + Benchmark industry trends and market conditions across existing and new suppliers

    + Cross-functional collaboration on new product introductions to qualify and source capable suppliers

    + Support MP&L, Supplier Technical Assistance teams to support inbound material flow to reduce supply chain risks including, but not limited to, capacity, geopolitical risk and material shortages

     

    You'll have...

     

    + Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance or a related field of study

    + 3 years minimum production purchasing experience.Preferred experience within electrical wiring or components

    + Strong understanding of EDS system components (wiring harnesses, connectors, terminals fuses, relays, etc.)

    + Knowledge of EDS and component manufacturing (injection molding, crimping, stamping, etc.)

    + Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and contract management

    + Ability to perform cost analysis, value engineering, and total cost of ownership assessment

    + Proven experience in managing sourcing process (supplier selection, benchmarking, cost assessment, sourcing recommendations, contract development)

    + Proven experience in commodity strategy development

    + Proficiency in data assessment tools (excel, Power BI, or similar)

    + Experience in budget management

    + Proven ability to track and report KPIs such as on-time delivery, supplier performance, sourcing to target, cost reduction, etc.

    + Understanding of sustainability and compliance in supply chain

    + Strong understanding of global supply chain dynamics, logistics, lead time optimization

    + Preferred experience in developing / managing cost models

    + Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment

    + Ability to develop and implement commodity strategies

    + Strong communication and presentation skills

    + Ability to leverage and work with cross-functional teams and build internal and external networks

    + Preferred certifications and education:

    + Lean Six sigma (green or black belt)

    + Certified professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM)

    + Advanced degree (MPA/Supply Chain/Technical)

    This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
