Overview
The Senior Development/ Project Accountant will handle all the accounting functions for various Project-level entities and will produce accurate and timely quarterly financial statements and monthly financial reports as required. The hire should be able to perform full cycle accounting functions within their assigned entities. These functions include maintenance of accounts receivable, management of cash payments, lease accounting, debt service, financial account reconciliations and various other cash and reporting activities. The Senior Development/ Project Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager to effectively manage the accounting and report on various projects to investors and management. The role involves applying a broad range of accounting including general ledger, treasury operations, account reconciliations, and creation of Excel schedules.
The Senior Development/ Project Accountant will have the ability to help develop and implement policies, procedures, and other best practices with the assistance of the accounting manager. There are no direct reports with this role.
Responsibilities
+ Prepare supporting documents and record complex journal entries in areas such as, but not limited to cash, prepaids, accrued expenses, deferred revenue, leases, debt, interest rate swaps, various operating expenses and revenues, investment and equity.
+ Record and reconcile inter-company activity, including inter-company payables, receivables, investments, and lease payments.
+ Prepare reconciliations for Balance Sheet related accounts.
+ Manage and record flow of fund requests for funds.
+ Run ad hoc analysis and detail as required.
+ Understand and record eliminating journal entries for intercompany activities and prepare consolidated financial statements for investors, lenders and management.
+ Preparation and review of various reports including but not limited to net cash flow and debt service coverage ratios.
+ Prepare annual audited financial statements and footnotes, and work with independent auditors to provide support for the annual audit process.
+ Handle various other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager.
Education & Experience Required
+ Embrace and live by the mission and values of Cypress Creek Renewables
+ Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
+ Minimum of 4 years of experience preparing journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, financial statement support workpapers, and account analysis.
+ Intermediate to advanced excel skills including but not limited to the ability to use Sumifs, vlookups, pivot tables, and other basic excel functions.
+ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred, but not required.
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
+ Experience with NetSuite is preferred but not required.
