    The Coating Operations Team at the Optics Consolidated Manufacturing Center (OCMC) in Richardson, Texas plays a critical role in driving RTX competitiveness in optical components, assemblies and systems both now and in the future. **This team is responsible for performing operations centering around advanced coating applications** that ultimately lead to the on-time delivery of quality products that exceed customer expectations and that are completed at or below budget.

     

    **A first shift, full-time opportunity currently exists within the Operations Coating Team for a Value Stream Manager. You will plan and execute daily operations in support of current and future initiatives as it relates to the application of advanced coatings.** You will establish plans, budgets and schedule modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Additionally, you will assist all factory leadership in ensuring that the OCMC factory adheres to OSHA and other federal operational and safety guidelines and reports to the Factory Operations Manager.

    What you will do:

    + Supervise the entire manufacturing process from start to finish, identifying and resolving production-related issues.

    + Responsible for establishing and maintaining health and safety standards in the coating operations area.

    + Develop and monitor coating production schedules to meet deadlines and customer requirements.

    + Allocate coating team labor across multiple shifts, manage coating inventories, and assign tasks as needed to coating production staff.

    + Ensure coating team training schedules are met.

    + Establish and enforce quality standards for products and ensure materials and equipment meet these requirements.

    + Manage coating operational budgets, control coating production costs, and implement strategies to minimize waste and expenses.

    + Oversee the selection, maintenance, and repair of production equipment to ensure it functions reliably.

    + Prepare and present reports to operations team and factory management on production activities, performance, and costs.

    + Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline operations.

    + Resolve conflicts within the team effectively, fostering a positive work environment by managing stress and navigating disruptions or crises calmly and effectively.

    Qualifications you must have:

    + Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience with specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.

    + Relevant experience is working in a manufacturing and/or production operations environment.

    + Experience using a computer and production management software packages (examples: MS Office, ERP, SAP, NewSuite, MES, QMS, etc.)

    + Experience with quality control standards and safety regulations to ensure high-quality products and a safe working environment.

    Qualifications we prefer:

    + Prior experience with Optical coating (vacuum) equipment.

    + A solid understanding of manufacturing production processes, equipment, and relevant industry-specific technologies.

    + Experience working in a Clean Room Environment and knowledge of FOE protocol

    + Knowledge of the optics industry.

    + The ability to motivate, manage, and inspire this multi-shift production team to safely meet deadlines and goals.

    + The capacity to analyze issues, find logical and effective solutions, and make timely, decisive corrective actions.

    + Strong organizational skills are crucial for planning production schedules, coordinating activities, and managing multiple projects and resources efficiently.

    + The ability to manage workloads, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

    + Excellent verbal and written skills to clearly convey objectives, create reports, and collaborate with team members, functional managers, and customers

    + Ability to collaborate and influence development of project objectives and goals with external customers and internal stakeholders.

    + Experience with team building, change management and team leadership in a matrix organization.

    The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

     

    RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

     

    Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

     

    This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
