Overview
Orients and completes the necessary competencies to perform a variety of essential environmental and material management functions that ensure patient safety, reduce the risk of hospital-acquired infections (HAC’s), and create safe, clean and sterile work environments for Surgical Services.
Responsibilities
* The Peri-op Support Technician works collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure efficient workflows in the operating room while adhering to AORN standards.
* The PST will be responsible for turnover of OR’s as well as weekly terminal cleaning.
* PST will know and understand equipment used during surgeries, and how to set up rooms.
* The PST will also understand Decontamination processes in Central Sterile, learn to clean and process endoscopy scopes, know instrumentation in order to be a runner for the surgical team, and help to pull cases for next day’s surgeries.
* The PST may also be asked to run specimens to the lab.
* This position will also cross train to PACU to assist as needed with patients or daily housekeeping needs.
Qualifications
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
* Previous experience in the medical/surgical field a plus
* This is a fast paced and busy position with great reward! Will train the right candidate. Flexible schedule with no holidays or weekends.

(BLS) Basic Life Support within 30 days
