    Job Summary:At MaineGeneral Health, we’re seeking a strategic, hands-on leader to oversee our full revenue cycle operations.     Job Description:

    What You’ll Do:Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Director of Revenue Cycle provides strategic oversight and leadership across all areas of the revenue cycle — ensuring integrity, efficiency, and alignment with MaineGeneral’s financial and operational goals. You’ll bring both strategic vision and operational depth to optimize performance, strengthen processes, and lead a high-performing team committed to continuous improvement.

    Revenue Cycle Leadership & Strategy

    + Direct all revenue cycle functions, including patient access, billing, charge capture, denials, and collections.

    + Drive strategies to improve cash flow and key metrics such as clean claim rate, days in AR, and net collection rate.

    + Deliver regular, data-driven reporting and analysis to senior leadership on trends, results, and opportunities for improvement.

    Payor Relations & Compliance

    + Maintain deep expertise in payor contracts, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements.

    + Ensure compliance with all billing and reimbursement standards while optimizing reimbursement and resolving escalated payor issues.

    Denials & Appeals Management

    + Lead a comprehensive denials program focused on reducing denial rates, recovering lost revenue, and identifying root causes.

    + Oversee timely, accurate appeals in partnership with clinical and coding teams, monitoring trends to drive proactive improvements.

    Operational Excellence & Innovation

    + Champion data analytics and emerging technology to enhance accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across all revenue functions.

    + Oversee departmental budgets, internal controls, and audits to maintain fiscal accountability and operational integrity.

    Team Leadership & Collaboration

    + Lead, mentor, and develop a talented team of revenue cycle professionals, fostering collaboration, accountability, and growth.

    + Partner with finance, clinical, and operational leaders to align goals, streamline processes, and strengthen enterprise-wide performance.

    What You Bring:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Management, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

    + Ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including billing, collections, and denials oversight.

    + Demonstrated success improving clean claim rate, days in AR, denial rate, and net collection rate.

    + Deep understanding of payor requirements, contracts, and reimbursement methodologies.

    + Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive operational transformation in complex healthcare environments.

    + Exceptional communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills.

    + Familiarity with Epic or comparable revenue cycle platforms preferred.
