Job Summary and Qualifications
+ Directs and oversees EMS education coordinator and all contracted EMS instructors in order to instruct EMT- Basic, EMT-Intermediate, BCLS, ACLS, AED, PALS, PHTLS, EMT-Basic RTP, EMT-Intermediate RTP, Paramedic RTP and other related courses dealing with pre-hospital EMS and hospital continuing education programs offered through the Emergency Medical Services Department.
+ Responsible for public education and awareness of AED programs as well as assisting local agencies with establishing AED programs.
+ Responsible for all ALS Affiliation Agreements and Receiving Hospital Agreements
+ Responsible for the Implementation and the training of all identified staff in the HCA Disaster training Program
+ Responsibility for functions and activities required by the American Heart Association for Community Training Center Coordinators (CTC Coordinators).
+ Responsible for updates and changes in accordance with ECC Guidelines and treatment protocols specific to BLS, AED, ACLS, and PALS.
+ Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to instruct all AHA courses and/or programs that meets the American Heart Association requirements and is in compliance with JCAHO standards.
+ Demonstrates the knowledge and skill in implementing and evaluating clinical affiliates and related contractual agreements.
+ Critiques all ambulance Patient Care Report Forms (PCRF's), responsible for developing area EMS agencies in the development of department wide CQI programs for proper and appropriate patient care and documentation standards as set forth within Catholic Medical Center's Pre-hospital Patient Care Protocol Manual. Responsible for all Data Entry relate to PCRF's in order to maintain working statistics for EMS personnel and/or hospital staff members for purposes of review and data collection. In conjunction with the Emergency Department Medical Director, critiques each police AED use and application for appropriate usage and documentation as set forth by the American Heart Association and Catholic Medical Center's Medical Control guidelines.
+ Responsible for Quality Improvement programs to resolve EMS related problems.
+ Chair of the hospital Disaster Committee. Responsible for the development and revision of the radiological, hazardous materials and disaster plans. Responsible for hospital emergency preparedness and responsible for the coordination of hospital drills relating to emergency preparedness required by JCAHO. Member of Safety Committee representing Disaster / Emergency Preparedness Committee. Member of the hospital Critical Care Community.
+ Represents Catholic Medical Center at local, state, and national emergency preparedness planning meetings, conferences, and drills.
+ Oversees usage/utilization as well as all policies and procedures of Catholic Medical Center's Helicopter Landing Pad – Helipad.
What qualifications you will need:
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ (EMT) Emergency Medical Technician
+ High School Graduate / GED
